Thomas “Tom” Gibbons, age 81, of Hot Springs Village, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017. He was born September 30, 1936 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Harry and Esther Seifeldt Gibbons.
Tom was very active in the community and served as past president of the Anglers Club and of the Morning Lions Club. He was a member of the Men’s Cooking Club, Hawg Hunters, Spa City Bass Club, and absolutely loved and lived for fishing; even competitively team fishing at the state level for over 40 years. He also took great pride in being involved in the Stephen’s Ministry within the Lutheran Church. Tom was a compassionate man that never met a stranger. He had a unique way of talking people through anything they were going through, and valued his family with everything he had.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Bobbie Clinard Gibbons, two daughters; Gretchen Gibbons and Julie Gibbons, four step-children; Susan Manak and her husband, Dan, Kim Petersen and her husband Jim, Robert Goddard, and Andrew Goddard, nine grandchildren; Adam, Kirsten, Paige, Ashley, Alicia, Sophie, Michael, Maggie, and Maddie, three great-grandchildren; Naudia, Camdyn, and Carstyn, and one very special buddy, Beau, his beloved Cocker Spaniel.
A memorial service will be Friday, October 20, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church; 103 Ponferrada Way, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, with Pastor Kurt Kovanen officiating.
